Washington Square Restroom Renovation
Completed and opened to the public March 2015!
Background
The 2008 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond was passed by 71% of voters. Replacement of the restroom facility at Washington Square Park was made possible by the 2008 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Park Bond’s Restroom Repair and Replacement Program, which funds the construction, repair, and renovation of restroom facilities across the City’s park system.
Scope of Work
The new facility, designed by local architect Paulett Taggart, features a clean modern design that compliments the historic character of Washington Square Park.
To better serve park visitors, the new restrooms for men and women feature a greater number of fixtures than the previous structure. In addition, the building now houses a small work area and storage room to support the park’s dedicated gardening staff.
