Golden Gate Heights Park

Completed and Opened to the Public July 20, 2021!

Scope of Work

The renovation of the children’s playground was paired with improvements to the upper lawn and entrance area. These improvements were realized through the Community Opportunity Fund Program from the 2012 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond.

Background The renovation of Golden Gate Heights Park was part of the Let’sPlay SF ! Initiative , which seeks to inspire creativity and play throughout the City. 13 playgrounds prioritized for improvement by a citizen task force are in the process of being reimagined and redesigned for this and future generations of San Francisco’s children.

Funding

This project was funded by private donations and public sources.

The construction contract award for this project was approved by Recreation and Parks Commission on June 18, 2020 ( PDF ). This construction contract award obtained and complies with all city, state, and federal regulatory approvals, including any that are specific to this project’s funding sources.
