Bernal Heights Playground Renewal

Completed and Opened to the Public on November 3, 2025!

Scope of Work

This playground renewal project included replacing all play equipment and playground surfacing with fall attenuation playground surfacing material that is also fully accessible. We also made minor grading and drainage improvements and updated the surrounding asphalt to ensure the playground is accessible for everyone.

Background

The Bernal Heights Playground project is a Rec Park Playground Renewal project which aims to streamline delivery of complete replacements of play equipment and play surfacing. This project included community feedback to address current community priorities and ADA compliance.
